What is women’s health?

Women’s health includes your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Dr. Daya offers a wide array of women’s health services to keep you healthy and detect medical problems before they become serious.

Which women’s health services are available?

Dr. Daya and his team offer the following women’s health services:

  • Pelvic exams
  • Pap smears
  • Breast and cervical cancer screenings
  • Chronic disease screening and management
  • Sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing
  • Hormone replacement therapy

They also offer in-house bloodwork for added patient convenience. Dr. Daya takes all the time you need during appointments, so you don’t feel rushed.

What should I expect during a women’s health exam?

During a women’s health exam, or well-woman exam, Dr. Daya weighs you and checks your blood pressure and other vital signs. He reviews your medical history and asks questions about symptoms you may have.

Dr. Daya completes a pelvic exam and a Pap smear when necessary. During a Pap smear, he inserts a speculum into your vagina and takes a sample of cervical cells so a lab can screen them for signs of cervical cancer. Dr. Daya also completes a breast exam or recommends a mammogram for breast cancer screening.

Based on your health, symptoms, and disease risk factors, he might also recommend blood or imaging tests to detect or rule out women’s health issues or a chronic disease. Dr. Daya and his team let you know if you require treatment for a gynecological condition, urinary problems, hormone imbalance, menopause symptoms, or other issues.

He also offers weight-management counseling, birth control, vaccinations, family planning counseling, and treatments for mental health conditions like depression and anxiety.

How often should I schedule an appointment?

Every woman is different, but generally speaking ,you should schedule a women’s health exam every year. If you have a gynecological condition or chronic disease, you might require more frequent visits to maintain optimal health.

Don’t neglect your health and put yourself at risk of a women’s health problem. Schedule a well-woman checkup at Airport Primary Care over the phone or online today.
